During the Prenatal Breastfeeding Consultation
Patients will be educated on:
- Benefits of breastfeeding (e.g. decreased risk for baby, benefits for mother)

How to optimize breastfeeding by getting a good start

Comfortable positions and a good latch

Baby led latching

Hunger cues

Frequency of feeds

Normal infant behavior and normal feelings

During the Post-Partum Breastfeeding Assessment
- Physical assessment of baby and breast exam of mom will be preformed

Breastfeeding observation and educating parents to determine if their baby is feeding enough

Address any questions, problems, or concerns regarding breastfeeding
