Changes to Clinic Access Starting on Feb 6-10

We hope this message finds you well. We would like to inform you about some important upcoming changes to our office next month. Starting evening of Tuesday February 6, 2024 until Saturday February 10, 2024, our network system will be undergoing an essential update. Our commitment to providing you with the best possible healthcare remains steadfast, and we appreciate your understanding during this time.

Limited Hours

During the system update, our office will have limited hours:

  • Tuesday February 6, 2024: our office will remain open as usual during the day, however, there will be no urgent care clinic that evening
  • Wednesday February 7, 2024: our office will be open with limited appointments available; we will be open for urgent care in the evening
  • Thursday February 8, 2024: our office will be open with limited appointments available; we will be open for urgent care in the evening
  • Friday February 9, 2024: our office will be open with limited appointments available; we will be open for urgent care in the evening
  • Saturday February 10, 2024: our office will be open for urgent care

What to Expect

  • Your existing appointment during this period may be rescheduled. Our staff will contact you to arrange a different date and time.
  • Our phone lines will remain open, however, we are limited on the support we are able to provide you during this period. We are unable to book future appointments during this period and encourage you to call back after February 10, 2024 to book a new upcoming appointment. Please continue to call us if you need to cancel your appointment (s).
  • Prescription refill requests may be delayed. Our office encourages you to be proactive in requesting prescription refills well before your current supply runs out and before our system undergoes an update. This will help prevent interruptions in your treatment plan and ensures you have your medications when you need them.
  • Our healthcare providers will still be receiving urgent patient reports and labs through fax and will continue to connect with you regarding any urgent or abnormal results.
  • Our healthcare providers will be available to address urgent matters. Should you need immediate care, please go to your nearest emergency department.

Access to Patient Portals

  • You will not be able to book online appointments through Ocean or HealthMyself/Pomelo during this period and online messaging will be limited.

Office Updates

Changes in policies and procedures in response to COVID-19

  1. If you booked an appointment as a phone call or virtual visit, you do not need to physically come to our office.
  2. You may be assessed over the phone prior to scheduling an appointment
  3. Due to the majority of our staff working from home, you may receive a call from a private number.
  4. All patients in the office are required to wear a 3 layer mask that covers you mouth and nose.

While the province is ending its mask mandate on June 11th for health care organizations, SAFHT will continue to follow Public Health Ontario’s guidance and require all patients attending an appointment at one of our clinics to wear a mask.  This policy allows our organization to continue to keep our most vulnerable patients safe, protect our team from COVID-19 and will reduce the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak impacting our ability to deliver patient care.   We thank all our patients in advance for complying.
